Submissions to Compass Rose are read between August 1 and April 1 of each year. Although we try to hold submissions received outside of this period until the next reading cycle, we may occasionally have to return them unread depending upon the volume of submissions.
We are looking for a wide variety of styles, forms, and approaches, both traditional and experimental. We will consider the work of poets, fiction writers, essayists, photographers, and other visual artists.
All submissions should be accompanied by a SASE. Please also include:
- your name
- mailing address
- email address
- phone number
Limit poetry submissions to five (5) poems and fiction/non-fiction pieces to 10,000 words. Simultaneous submissions are accepted; previously published works are not.

The link to the current issue isn't working.
It is so cumbersome and slow to send snail mailed submissions from overseas. There's also the problem of SASEs with return postage. I can send IRCs from my country, but these have to be exchanged at your local post office for stamps of your country. Keeping all these difficulties in mind, will you accept e-mail submissions from abroad?
